Hey Daniel. Haven't seen you around the Flap. Crazy win last night for the Giants. Thing is, the Giants have been very underwhelming themselves until this series. Then again, we've gone through 4 catchers and our 2 'big' acquisitions (Haniger and Conforto) have barely been on the field.
Throw in some poor relief work and spotty pitching and you get 6-13 and only one series win (and a split) out of 7.
Flavor caught me on Twitter so I've dropped by today, but thanks for finding me here! The Cards have had a way of waking up people--the Mariners were also 8-11 when the Cards came to town, then won two of three.
That's a lot of turnover behind the plate, which has to be a tough thing. Joey Bart hasn't turned into the answer, huh?
Yeah. the Giants were the same. KC sucks and they took 2 of 3. Same with the Marlins.
Bart actually had a decent start but has been burt a couple times already. Pisser that we've had so many injuries so early. The hope is with the team fairly healthy now they can keep this roll going.
The Cards always seem to find a way to get relevant, so I'm sure they'll turn things around. Just not in the next couple days.
More optimism: the 1973 team that started off so badly? Was in first place in September before winding up 1.5 out at the end of the season. A weak division helped but you could argue this NL Central isn't a powerhouse.
Don't we all! If you want optimism, the schedule has been tough and Arenado should be better. The pitching staff is better than this and at some point things will click and they'll look more like the team we expected. Just hope that it happens soon!

Helps that the rest of the division hasn't played great either, doesn't it? Gives some time to sort things out.
You'll pardon me if I hope they can at least salvage a split here!
Daniel, I needsome optimism right now.
