Ironic that you address the Oakland connection. In the article I sent you, "Will Organ for Food," I wrote about the Cardinals playing the A's. In that game, it was the first time back to St. Louis for Stephen Piscotty. We cheered for him loyally.

Thank you for the article. Whitey was a great baseball man and a great wit. One of a kind. He will be missed. Also saddened by the passing of Carl Erskine. He played before my time, but was a very good baseball player and an even better person. Whitey and Carl, rest in peace. 🙏

I had just heard reference of Erskine recently and marveled that he was still alive. For him to pass right after Jackie Robinson Day is strangely appropriate.
