Definitely saddened by the news that Katie was leaving. She’s really the only reason I have that subscription. I am taking a wait and see approach to see who they get to replace her. I don’t pay a lot for the subscription. Every time I go to cancel, they offer me a deal. But I really only go there for Katie’s Cardinals coverage. Considering how active Cardinals fans are and the buzz around the new FO and this offseason, I would be surprised if they didn’t replace her.
“Since the end of the season and the passing of the torch/baton (whichever you prefer)…”
Rest assured, if Mo was still here, he’d instruct us that we can’t call it a torch and he’d prefer if we didn’t call it a baton and suggest we call it a “spirit stick” or something.
"At the end of the day, when you look at what we're doing in this space, you'll see that it is less a handoff and more of a seamless flow. Net net, neither of those terms fully encapsulates where we are right now."
“Do some people prefer a metaphorical passing of the guard? Yes. But ultimately, at the end of the day, we feel like the stick represents our end goal.”
Am I the only one scratching my head about Siani being gone? Yes, light hitting, but not really any different from Scott. Really enjoyed watching him roam centerfield.
My thinking is that the club thinks Scott has upside that Siani doesn't and Church (who is also defense-first) is younger than both of them. They couldn't keep three of them and Siani probably has the lowest ceiling of the lot. There's no doubt he can go get them in center, though!
Like you, I think Katie will eventually end up with a major network. It seems inevitable. I primarily subscribed to The Athletic because of Katie. I think The Athletic would mistake the frustration of Cardinal fans as lack of interest. I think this new regime will re-energize the fanbase over the off season. Hopefully The Athletic will understand it.

That is so scarily accurate on what he would say. Probably ask himself a question somewhere along the line too.

10/10. No notes.
