First, let me say that everyone should click play and listen to the audio of this. The British voice, while mispronouncing some words/names, brings a nice feel to it.
Like you, I rank the original pretty high on my list for many of the same reasons. As I was telling Truman this weekend, I still remember standing on the hot pavement waiting to get in to see ANH. I wasn't quite six years old, but that memory and the impact that the movie had on me are undeniable. What it did for me and movies overall, I'd rank it first. Yeah, ESB is a better movie, and it's clearly second, but ANH has a special place for me.
I've never ranked the movies. Maybe I should. I guess this gives me the opportunity!
I'll also say this, though. I'm glad you mentioned Andor. For me, it's the best Star Wars product out there. Where the writing and dialogue is average, at best, in many of the movies, Andor is some of the best written material in any universe. It ranks in my top 5 TV series of all time. Maybe top 3. Maybe higher.
The quote I used yesterday in honor of the date: "The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil." Mon Mothma in Andor
I agree that The Last Jedi is the best of the sequels, but I groaned at the prank phone call/your mom joke
That’s fair. It seemed a little too kitschy.
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Rogue One
Return of the Jedi
Revenge of the Sith
The Force Awakens
Solo
Attack of the Clones
The Last Jedi
The Phantom Menace
ROTS
First-ever rankings...subject to change!
I think that last one is TROS, unless Revenge takes up two very different spots.
You’re right! Juggling too many things. “Somehow Palpatine survived” is always last.
